So what exactly is hypnosis?

Put simply, it is a trance like state induced by another person. The person being hypnotized is not actually asleep and does have full awareness of their surroundings and the presence of the hypnotist.

What will happen when I with the hypnotist?

After all the statements have been made, you will gently been brought out of hypnosis. In our example of relaxing on the beach getting a sun tun, we will slowly be brought round from it. The hypnotist will then count 3-2-1 and you will open your eyes.

What does it feel like?

Whilst being hypnotized your body should feel completely relaxed, so the last thing you would want to do is move. Your mind should still be sharp and alert though.

It is not like you have been drugged, you still have the ability to “get out” of the hypnosis at any time.

As mentioned above, the person being hypnotized is more susceptible to suggestions. The person being hypnotized or “the subject” can be helped to change their personal feelings towards foods and exercise.

If we are able to change our personal feelings and thoughts through hypnosis, we are able to harness this power to have a lower desire to eat and a greater desire to exercise.

It sounds a bit far fetched, will it work?

Well, yes, it does appear far fetched and is by no means a miracle cure for being overweight or obese, or we would all be doing it already.

However, if accompanied by your best efforts to eat appropriately and exercise, it can dramatically increase your chances of being successful than if you were not undergoing hypnosis.
